Planet Coaster 2 - 1.7.0 Update Notes

The Sorcery Pack and Update 7 will be available for Planet Coaster 2 on September 16th.
Create an unforgettable realm of magic and mayhem where sorcerers and fantastical characters spring to life. With breathtaking new scenery and architecture your parks will be truly magical! Your guests will also get to enjoy FIVE new attractions, including highly anticipated additions from Outamax and a brand-new immersive experience with the Flying Theatre.
Update 7 includes the introduction of Challenge Mode, a conforming path tool, and an extra moving platform type. We've also included improvements across areas such as: Guest Thoughts & Moods, Staff Management, Game Economy, Career Mode, Unique Ride Counts and Building Placement, alongside bug fixes - all to make your gameplay experience even better!
Update 7 will also bring Planet Coaster 2 to the Microsoft Store and Xbox App for Windows.

Update 7
Features
- Challenge Mode
- In this new game mode, players are given optional challenges that can be completed to earn more cash to spend building their park.
- Challenges become harder as the park rating increases.
- Players can choose from sandbox biomes or career sandbox templates as a starting point.
- Players will be able to convert their challenge park into a sandbox parks.
- Grid Based System
- Grid based buildings can now be rotated on all three axis'.
- Players will now be able to reset an object to its default orientation by using the new 'Reset Rotation' button from the Info Panel.
- Building information will now be shown when editing a building.
- Conforming Path Tool
- A new terrain style option has been added that conforms the path to the landscape as you built it.
- Additional improvements to the path tool have also been made:
- Players will now have the ability to make square shaped corners.
- More colour customisation options for guest and queue paths have been added.
- Moving Platforms
- A new moving platform has been added - Moving Platform Radial
- Microsoft Store & Xbox App for Windows
- Planet Coaster 2 will be available on the Microsoft Store and Xbox App for Windows from September 16th.
Updates
- Guest Thoughts & Needs Improvements
- Increased the positive impact of Entertainers on Guests' Entertainment needs.
- Balanced the impact of queuing for rides and the effect nearby scenery has on Guest entertainment levels.
- Provided a more detailed percentage breakdown of each type of guest need is now shown within the management screens.
- Adjusted Guest Thoughts so that some thoughts will now disappear if they are no longer valid due to player actions. Additionally, all thoughts will now also expire after a set amount of time and also be removed.
- Adjusted Guest's 'uncomfortable' mood to lower the negative impact it has when guests are highly entertained.
- Adjusted Guest thoughts to prioritise showing important thoughts over high quantity thought to provide players with clearer feedback.
- Staff Management Improvements
- Made the Mechanic Workshop info panel easier to follow by removing unnecessary information.
- Added a quick link button from the research tab of the Workshop Info Panel.
- Added an option to turn off the auto-hiring of staff when placing down a new ride or amenity.
- Renamed the 'Emergency Call' button to 'Call Mechanic/Janitor' to better represent what will happen when you press it - they will attend it as a priority when they can, not as an emergency above everything else.
- Added staff info for who is answering the call along with a locate button. Players can also now cancel the call.
- Economy Improvements
- Guests will now consider Pool Capacities when purchasing Pool Passes, resulting in less sales if pools are full and more sales if pools are empty.
- Unique Rides Improvements
- A flume's uniqueness will now be determined by flume type rather than each flume in a park counting as unique when calculating park ratings.
- Players can now view the number of each ride type currently in the park, and which rides would be duplicates if placed, via each rides tooltip when viewed in the object browser.
- Building Placement Improvements
- Updated power iconography to better indicate if a ride/facility will be powered when placed.
- Career Mode Improvements
- A Shore Thing
- Bronze Medal Objectives:
- Added a Power Distributor to the cover area, so that the pre-placed facility shell has power when player adds facility.
- Changed the order of Objectives 'Own 3 Plots of Land' and 'Build a Pool in Beachfront 2 to reduce the chance players may buy an extra plot unnecessarily.
- Addressed an issue where an existing cable car ride starts closed and can be ignored throughout level, by changing it to start in an open state.
- Gold Medal Objectives:
- Reduced the potential of the 'Ride Average maintenance above 80%' objective autocompleting before any ride maintenance notification appears, by raising requirement to 90%.
- Platinum Medal Objectives:
- Addressed the 'Paying off Loan' objective taking longer than other objectives, by lowering starting loan amount slightly (now 65.000 previously 70.000).
- Bronze Medal Objectives:
- Parks & Restoration
- Bronze Medal Objectives:
- Addressed Guest Facilities that are close to the entrance being unlikely to be used much during scenario resulting in a loss, by replacing with another profitable facility - a souvenir shop.
- Changed the 'Ride Scenery Rating Of 2000 For Any Ride' objective to 'Ride Scenery Bonus Rating of at least 80% for any ride' - this enables players to keep track of the rating outside of the objective itself.
- Platinum Medal Objectives:
- Reduced the chance of 'Daily Income Greater than $200,000.00' resetting if not met by end of day, by reducing the amount to $180,000.00.
- Bronze Medal Objectives:

- Silver Medal Objectives:
- Adjusted starting cash from $25k to $35 to address how easy it is for players to run out of money and reduce the time taken to build up the slow rise of guests (especially for the cable car objective).
- Platinum Medal Objectives:
- Added a new objective, 'Improve and Power All Rides', to balance the number of objectives between tiers.
- Silver Medal Objectives:
- Summit Awesome
- Bronze Medal Objectives:
- Addressed guests waiting and leaving the queue of the 'Kollider' coaster at the start of scenario by ensuring a ride attendant is present.
- Extended the pre-placed Monorail track to prevent it from being unable to complete due to an auto tunnel error caused by the locked terrain.
- Bronze Medal Objectives:
- All other scenarios
- Changes to following objectives:
- 'Have X amount of Guests in a X mood' is now 'Have at least X amount of Guests in a X mood'.
- 'Ride Scenery Rating Of 'X amount' For Any Ride' is now 'Ride Scenery Bonus Rating of at least 'X%' for any ride'.
- Sub-objective in 'Improve and Power all rides' is now 'At least X amount of' scenery value to 'Minimum scenery bonus X%'

- Heatmaps will now fully highlight rides.
- Outamax Multiverse Coasters Improvements
- Added a 'Spring Lift (Reverse)' track piece to the Outamax Multiverse Coaster - Friction Wheel and Outamax Multiverse Coaster - LSM.
- Added a 'Lift Motion' option to the 'Spring Lift' track piece of the Outamax Multiverse Coaster - Friction Wheel and Outamax Multiverse Coaster - LSM. Players will be able to choose between 'Spring' or 'Simple' motion.

- Resolved an issue where removing a setup priority queue would result in guests being no longer able to board the ride. - View on Issue Tracker
- Resolved an issue where moving an on-ride photo camera trigger point would cause the photo rating to incorrectly decrease. - View on Issue Tracker
- Adjusted on-ride cameras so that shadows and LODs will no longer flicker when a coaster passes by. - View on Issue Tracker

- Adjusted the front car wheel alignment of many coasters that was causing wheels to clip through tracks. - View on Issue Tracker
- Resolved an issue where Linear Synchronous Motor launch track pieces on inverting coasters could not be constructed upside-down.
- Resolved an issue where a track connecting to a special piece could become unexpectedly twisted.

Guests
- Adjusted guest behaviour in queues to make queue movement look more natural.

Park Construction
- Adjusted the names of Hoarding Primary Support 8m and Hoarding Secondary Support 8m to correctly reflect their actual height of 6m. - View on Issue Tracker
- Resolved an issue where the Advance Movement and Duplicate option would intermittently stop working if single scenery objects have Random Rotation & Scale options toggled on. - View on Issue Tracker
- Wooden Beam Wall - Slope scenery assets now have left and right variants.

Profile
- Resolved an issue where player's avatars would become blacked out after editing. - View on Issue Tracker
- The two empty hat slots in the avatar editor have been removed.
Staff
- Resolved an issue causing mechanics to walk on the spot at a ride exit gate if called to service a ride while Guests are still using it. - View on Issue Tracker
