Park Manager's Handbook - Theme Park Build Ideas

Hayo Park Managers!

We see so many amazing and inventive theme and water parks in Planet Coaster 2, but sometimes there can be so much choice it's hard to know where to get started! To spark a little inspiration for your next build, we've put together a whole bunch of build ideas, regardless of your experience and play-style, with plenty of tips and tricks to help you create YOUR ultimate theme park.

Spring has sprung!

Big Bunny Coaster

Create a bouncy bunny coaster for your guests to jump right onto! Add plenty of inclines and declines for the full hoppy effect, with a huge drop into a pile of sweets at the end for a big finish. Decorate the cars of your coaster with all kinds of scenery to fully immerse your guests in the cuteness, but don't forget to theme your entrance, queue and the area around your coaster too.

Suggested Coasters

When building a custom rollercoaster, these rides can be switched to their de-themed version by changing their Car Type to 'Standard'.

  • Zephyr - Junior Coaster - Kid friendly
  • Outamax - Sit Down - 4 Seater
  • Kingdom Isle - Wooden

Suggested Scenery Pieces

To apply scenery pieces to all coaster cars on both sides, make sure you have symmetry type set to Mirrored and Twinning set to Twinned.

  • Box Hedges
  • Cardboard Shapes (Requires Toybox Pack)
  • Decorative Clouds
  • Snowman Body pieces - Use these to create cute rabbit tails on your coaster cars.
  • Planet Coaster Theme Wall Decorations - Make little animal faces and add family friendly scenery to your ride!
  • Fairytale Fences
  • Half Prolate Spheroid - Make great bunny ears on the front of your coaster, or can be re-coloured like giant eggs.
  • Confectionary - From the Festive Theme - Create piles of sweets treats brought by the Bunny!
  • Special Effect - Falling Blossoms, Glitter and Sparkles all add a touch of whimsy to your bouncing bunny ride.
  • Toybox Sign - Bunny (Requires Toybox Pack)

Paradise Plaza

Plazas can be a fantastic hub for shops, restaurants and Information Points! But wide open spaces can look sparse without decorations. Pack this plaza full of beautiful plants, including Giant Trees, pergolas of Grapevines and Fairytale Flower Bushes, to give your guests somewhere to relax and unwind in your busy, fun-filled theme park.

Suggested Nature Scenery

  • Desert Ironwood Bushes
  • Fairytale Flower Bush
  • Flower Beds
  • Grapevines - Perfect for adding a shady spot to relax!
  • Hanging Baskets
  • Heather Planets
  • Kapok Trees
  • Olive Trees
  • Rhododendron Bushes - A lovely pop of colour!
  • Pillars - Fairytale Theme
  • Tree Giant pieces (Requires Sorcery Pack)
  • Palace Fountains
Park Overview

Did you know?

You can quickly lay down large open spaces for plazas with the Path Stamp tool! Select from square, Hexagon, Octagon, Pentagon or Circle and place the shape on the grid until you've made your desired layout. Just like with standard paths, you can customise the appearance, colour and railings to fit the theme of your park!

Spring Showers Lazy River

Lazy Rivers are a fantastic way to add some whimsy to your park! Set up your Lazy River jets to send your guests bobbing around relaxing rivers all throughout your park and its many areas. We'd suggest theming this one with plenty of overhanging plants, magical flower & fairy lights, and mystical special effects.

Suggested Scenery

  • Effects - Water, Bubbles, Water Splash
  • Flower Lamps
  • Bottle Lamps (Requires Sorcery Pack)
  • Fairy Lights
  • Jetties
  • Viking Rock Sculptures - For extra magic!
  • Weeping Willow Trees
  • Inflatable Rings

Did you know?

You don't have to manually add each Water Jet to your Lazy River when using the Line Builder tool. When creating your own Pool, select the Customise Extras tab and ensure Water Jets are switched On. Water Jets can be added to either or both sides of the river with the rotation and repetition also customisable to increase the speed and direction of your winding stream.

  • Mega Animatronic - Embrace the chaos of having all the animatronics activating all at once in the same place...
