Parades
Give your Theme Park an extra oomph with showstopping Parades!
Parades are coordinated processions of Floats designed to wow your Guests! A Parade will satisfy Guests' Entertainment Need, but will cost you some cash to run.
Building a Parade

Building with Blueprints
Building breath-taking parades can be as simple or as involved as you like!
Blueprints are a quick way to create a beautiful parade to leave you guests in awe. In the Entertainment tab, we have provided a fantastic selection of Blueprints of fully-fledged parades complete with routes and floats, as well as blueprints for float bases and decorated float designs.
To use float bases and fully designed float Blueprints, you will need to attach these to Parade Trains, as you would other pieces of scenery. For more info about building the routes and selecting your Trains, keep reading this guide!

Creating Custom Parades
A Parade always starts at the Station - from here you can build track along to an End Station, or circle back around and finish where you started. The Staff Gate can be placed on either side of the Start Station, and needs to be accessible in case your Parade breaks down. Parade tracks can have Paths on both sides, allowing your Guests to walk right up to the action! Be sure to add lots of scenery and even Entertainer Platforms to your Floats, to really give your Guests a show!
Before you can entertain Guests with fantastical Floats, you'll need to build the route and add the Trains that are the base for your Parade. The first place Park Managers will need to start is with the Parade Tracks. You can find Parades under the Entertainment tab on the Browser.
Parade Tracks
Parade Tracks not only make a route for your Parades to follow, but they can also provide a walkable surface for your Guests!
Park Managers have a few options for the type of tracks they build for their Parades:
- Path Tracks are not only a track for your Parade but also a path that is walkable for your Guests, meaning when your parade isn't active your Guests will wander over it.
- Standard Tracks are only usable by your Parade Trains and performers so place this down to keep your track Guests-free.
There are Stop/Start versions of both tracks available, so Trains can stop for a set amount of type to allow Guests to admire them, before continuing.
While placing tracks, switch on Parallel Paths to provide somewhere for your Guests to stand at the sides and watch the Parade go by! You can adjust the width of Parallel Paths in the Info Panel too, or connect your own paths up to the side of your Parade track. You can even run a Parade through an existing plaza!
How To Build a Parade Track
Plot out the route for your Parade to follow through your park.
- Select the Entertainment tab in the Browser.
- Select the Create Custom button, then Parades.
- Place the Parade Start Station.
- Now place either Path Track or Standard Track.
- You can also place Stop/Start versions of both Path and Standard Track.
- Adjust curve, incline and length of each track piece as you place it.
- Finish your Parade Track by looping it around to the Start Station or by placing a Parade End Station.
- Place a Staff Gate to make your Parade accessible to Staff for maintenance and make sure to test your Parade before you open it!
- Remember: Your Starting Station must be powered for your Parade to run.
Did you know?
A basic Starting Station can hold up to 3 Trains and/or Performer groups, but for longer Parades you can extend the track in Edit Mode. Simply select the Starting Station and then choose Edit Track to add additional sections to the Starting Station.
The number of Trains you can add is determined by the length of the Station: longer Stations, or Stations with track behind, can hold more Floats.
Parade Trains and Floats
Now you have a route planned for your Parade it's time to choose your Trains. Your Parade is made up of Trains, which are in turn made up of individual Floats.
You can decide how many Trains you want in the Trains Tab of the Info Panel, though you can only add more if there is enough space in the Station of track behind it. Select a Train in the Trains Tab to open its own Info Panel.
Train Types:
- Small
- Large
- Bridge - these are made of two synchronous Floats with a space between, for a bridge or whatever else you'd like!
Floats will fill your Guests' Entertainment Need when in range: if multiple Floats are in range, then the effect is multiplied, so it's up to you to decide how best to space them out!
Parade Performers
Parade Performers will walk alongside or between your Floats to provide some extra entertainment during your Parade! You can choose between costumed Entertainers or the stylish Parade Attendants to suit your Parade's theming.
To add Performers alongside a Float, select a Performer Point in its Info Panel. Alternatively, you can also add a Performer Group to your Parade, to break up the chain of Floats!
Performer Groups come in rows of 2, 3 or 4 Performers so you can make all kinds of formations!
How To Add Parade Trains
The types of Floats you can create is dependent on the Train types you add or remove from your Parade.
- Select the Starting Station area of your Parade route and navigate to the Trains tab of the Info Panel.
- By default, you will always have 1 Train connected to your Parade to begin with. To add more Trains, select the Add New Train button.
- You can also add Parade Performers as an alternative to Trains by selecting the Add Parade Performers button.
- Select a Train to edit the type of Float it supports.
- Choose from Small, Large and Bridge Floats. Each of these has a set number of Performer Points, allowing you to add Performers that will walk alongside a Float.
- You can also choose how many rows of a Float type you have for a Train. For example, if your track is long enough, a single Train of small Floats could have 4 rows.
- Finally you can adjust the Departure Interval for your Trains. Apply the same departure interval to all Trains or decide the length of time between on Train setting off and next yourself.
Customising a Parade

Once you have your Parade route plotted and the Train's type selected, it's time to add the personality and pizzazz to your Parade! Customising your Floats is simple with hundreds of Parade specific scenery pieces, including bases, emissive attachments and railings. You can add almost any selection of scenery pieces in Planet Coaster 2 to your Parade Floats. This gives you complete creative control over your Parade, and the ability to increase the Float Dressing Bonus to boost your Parade's Prestige!
Performer Platforms
Performer Platforms are designated spots for Performers on your Parade Floats.
There are two types of Performer Platform: Standing, and Walkway.
Add one to a Float, then select its Info Panel to change the assigned Performer, their Variant and their Behaviour.
Parade Performers only appear when a Parade is active, and as such are only paid for the duration of a Parade when it is Open and running. Parade Performers do not incur a cost while a Parade is Testing.
How To Customise Floats
- Select your Parade and press the Attach Scenery button.
- You can also access the Attach Scenery button in the Customise tab of the Parade Info Panel.
- Next select the Add Objects button to open the Browser and choose scenery items to add to your Float.
- Use Edit Mode to add scenery pieces including Float bases to your Trains! You can add scenery to all the Trains within your parade as they are all part of the same scenery group.
- Once you have finished decorating your Trains to make custom Floats, select the Done button to finalise any additions.
Adding scenery to your Floats works similarly to the tools for adding Scenery to your coasters, using tools such as Twinning and Symmetry.
The Twinning setting allows scenery to be duplicated automatically. Select Apply to All Trains to decorate en masse, but bear in mind that your changes will only apply to Floats of the same type, and of the corresponding number in other Trains.
The Symmetry setting allows you to easily place duplicate scenery in symmetrical locations. There are two types of Symmetry: Mirrored, which works like a mirror down the middle of your Float, and Rotational, which considers scenery placement symmetrical from a centre point.
The scenery you add to your Floats as Float Dressing, as well as Performers and the duration of a Parade, will have an impact on Guests in range. Keep track of this in the Prestige & Reputation tab of the Parade Info Panel.
Head to the Customise Tab to create a Trigger Sequence. Here, you can set Triggers down onto the Track, and even select specific Trains for them to affect. Here you can also add Trigger Sequences to your track, and specify when to set them off for a show-stopping Parade! Learn more about Trigger Sequences in our Ride Customisation guide.
Parade Music and Speakers
Each Train in a Parade can have its own music! Select the Train then the Customise Tab to set the music for each Train. The music will start when the parade starts. Use this to theme each Train in your Parade!
To keep all eyes (and ears) on your Parade, connect Speakers around your Park to the Parade. Connected Speakers will have their set sounds muted as the Parade passes by, and automatically resume playing once the Parade leaves the area, so sounds won't overlap. Each nearby Speaker will instead play the music of the Parade Train they are closest to while the Parade is running.
Announce the Parade is starting with the Parade Start Sound Effect. Connected Speakers will play this sound when the Parade begins.
Managing a Parade

Just like other attractions at your park, Parades need maintenance and scheduling.
Maintaining Parades
To get your Parade up and running, you'll have to add a Staff Gate before it can open. This allows your Mechanics to gain access to the Parade Track when it is in need of servicing or repair!
Keep an eye on the Condition of a Parade in the Maintenance tab of it's Info Panel. Here you can also view the Parade's Wear Rate, when its service badge expires and quickly call a Mechanic or Refurbish a Parade.
Scheduling Parades
Your Parade will only run when it is scheduled: decide when and how often your Parade will run in the Scheduler tab. A Parade will attract Guests to come and watch, which will boost their Entertainment Need, and increase their chance of wanting to buy a souvenir. However, time spent watching a Parade is also valuable time that they're not spending at Shops and Rides, so mind that you don't schedule too many!
Parades have two Scheduling Modes: Periodic and Timetable. Both modes allow you to pick how many Parades will run per day.
Periodic sets a fixed interval between runs, allowing up to 50 Parades per day.
Timetable gives you complete control of the schedule, letting you set the time for each Parade run.
You can also use the Run Parade Now button to start a Parade immediately!
After one Parade, Guests will wait a while before they watch another, so don't schedule them too close or you'll get a reduced turnout for the same running cost! Be sure to leave enough time between so that your Parades don't clash, too: a new Parade can't start if the previous scheduled Parade is still running!
How to Schedule a Parade
Decide when your Parades will run, balancing Guest enjoyment and the running cost of each procession!
- Select the Scheduler tab in the Parade Info Panel.
- Choose between Periodic or Timetable scheduling modes.
- Periodic Mode
- Choose the number of times you'd like the parade to run throughout the day, up to a maximum of 50 times. This will automatically set a time for the parade, running them with a equal amount of time between each.
- Timetable Mode
- Add timeslots for you parade to run, up to a maximum of 50 a day.
- Edit each timeslot to any time of day.
- Periodic Mode
- For both scheduling modes, you can keep track of the daily running cost of your parades as you add or remove slots.
- Now you have decided how you would like your parade to run, they will start on this schedule each day. To edit the schedule, go back into the Scheduler tab.
