Restaurants

Feed your guests something delicious with sit-down dining in your parks!

While food and drink shops are perfect for a quick bite to fuel your park visitors, some guests will want a more of a formal dining experience. Restaurants are perfect for building eateries into the themed areas of your parks, with plenty of different food options to choose from.

Creating Restaurants

Building a restaurant to create a tasty dining experience for your guests only takes a few quick steps.

Choose from the selection of pre-built restaurant blueprints or let your creativity flow and build your own fine dining establishment... or kitchen nightmare!

How To Build a Custom Restaurant

Build fantastic places to eat, from resort style outside dining areas to indoor food courts and more!

  1. Go to the Facilities section of the Browser at the bottom of your screen and select Create Custom. Navigate to Restaurants and place the Restaurant Kitchen where you’d like to build your eatery, connecting it to a path.
  2. The Restaurant Kitchen will need power to open. Ensure you place the facility within the range of a power distributor. To learn more about powering your park, take a look at our Facilities guide.
  3. Connect Picnic Benches or Dining Tables to the Restaurant Kitchen to complete your restaurant. You can do this one of two ways:
    1. Select the Restaurant Kitchen and choose the Add Tables button in the InfoPanel. This will automatically connect the tables you place to this restaurant kitchen.
    2. Open the Scenery section of the browser and navigate to Path Extras, then Picnic Benches to select your tables. Once you’ve placed your tables to create a dining area, select the Restaurant kitchen and open the Connections section in the InfoPanel. Choose Connect Tables, highlight the tables you’d like to link to the kitchen and then select Confirm Selection.
  4. Opening your restaurant will automatically hire a Vendor to serve guests.
  5. Now your basic restaurant is built, you can let your imagination run wild adding scenery items, walls and more for your guests to enjoy!

Customising Your Restaurant

Naming your restaurant, tweaking the menu and decorating with interesting scenery is all part of making your restaurant fit perfectly in your park.

Customising the Menu

All food items at your restaurants are made up of ingredients that your guests will find satisfying. You can add extras to make them more appealing, but it will increase your costs and potentially cater to fewer guests’ dietary satisfaction. To learn more about dietary requirements, check out our Shops & Vendors guide.

Pricing

Food item prices at your restaurants can be customised just like your menu! Switch on Sync Across Restaurants to keep pricing consistent around your whole park.

Bargain Pricing – Automatically sets prices in restaurants to the cheapest possible price. This will keep guests happy, but you’ll still need to cover your outgoing costs.

Custom Pricing – Set the prices yourself! Adjust the cost of all items in your restaurants to suit the needs of your park. Just make sure your guests can afford to buy them...

Managing Your Restaurants

Just like any facility in Planet Coaster 2, you’ll have to keep an eye on the bottom line. Using the Finances and Staff sections of the restaurant InfoPanel, you can track daily and lifetime profits and running costs as well as assign staff to work in the kitchen.

Staffing

When you open your restaurant kitchen, a Vendor staff member will be auto hired for a work block. You will need to cover the breaks for your Vendors, just like any other staff member otherwise you risk leaving your hungry park guests waiting at a closed restaurant!

For more in-depth information on managing the staff for your whole park, take a look at our Staff Guide.

Did You Know?

Janitors will also tidy up the restaurants throughout your park! Some guests will pick up their rubbish and put it in bins but when they don’t your hardworking Janitors will clean up.
